A large stone that serves as the boundary marker between North Carolina and South Carolina. One side is engraved with “NC” and the other with “SC.” A third side is engraved with the date that the stone boundary marker was set, 1813.

South Carolinians refer to it as the “North Corner Stone” because it marks a northern “corner” of the boundary with North Carolina.
