The Old Wastewater Treatment Plant is a technical landmark where form meets function.

This Site is pleasing those explorers, who are drawn towards architectural, technological as well as civil engineering topics.

The British civil engineer, William Heerlein Lindley constructed the huge complex between 1901-1906 in Bubenec to handle the water management of Prague. It was used for the treatment of sewage water in the city of Prague until 1967.

Nowadays the site is a museum for preserving industrial history. A group of Restaurateurs preserved the technical Equipment in superb condition. Strolling through the spacious brick-stone halls the old spinning wheels and pumps coming to life rumpling and humming.

Going further below the surface, there are steep staircases, tunnels, and gigantic engine halls. Large underground sedimentary basins are still filled up with water. A few industrial luminaires are gloaming and throwing reflections upon the water-filled tunnels. A historical boat for maintenance purposes is still operating.
